  • Mezcal - The term mezcal is derived from the Nahuatl word for cooked agave, the paramount plant involved in the spirit’s production. While its tall, spiky green leaves are an iconic emblem of mezcal, it’s the piña, it's stem, that resembles a pineapple, that’s used to make the spirit.

  • Mezcal vs Tequila - what is the difference? - Mezcal is 100% agave while tequila is 51% or more. Mezcal's pina is mashed, smoked, then fermented while tequila's pina is steamed or baked then fermented.
